Cowherd PLC

Property owners increasingly find their rights under siege. Home construction warranties provided at closing are later not honored. HOA’s overstep their authority set forth in the governing documents.  Loan servicers ignore rights of borrowers in effort to fast track foreclosure. Sometimes when industry predators  infringe upon property rights they insist that resistance by the owner is futile.  Shouldn’t the owner get to decide how to best maximize the value and use of real estate? After practicing law at other firms for over nine years, in 2015 I decided to start a solo law practice to help owners protect their rights. The existence of a lien, covenant or contract does not give an opposing party carte blanch. Cowherd PLC represents investors, owners and family-owned businesses in motions, trials, administrative action and arbitration. To help clients best position themselves to likely obtain favorable results, I have deposed and cross-examined opposing parties and expert witnesses. In 2016, 44% of the firm’s work was in Construction Litigation, 33% in Foreclosure Defense, 18% in Owner’s Rights in HOA or Condominium matters and 5% in miscellaneous litigation matters. Areas of practice include:

  • Construction Litigation

    • Construction Warranties
